The Pilates method is an intelligent series of Precise exercises designed to align and strengthen the body. Pilates creates body awareness with Concentrated effort. By focusing on core Control, Pilates enhances your center's stability, physicality, and aesthetic. The strengthening of the core brings postural and spinal support, flattening your tummy. Pilates deepens the integration of movement via focus on the Breath, creating Flow and oxygenation of the muscles. Pilates physical Centering helps to ground us, giving support during stressful times.

The Gyrotonic Expansion System® is a form of exercise that integrates movement principles from tai chi, yoga, swimming, ballet, and gymnastics. Simultaneously stretching and strengthening, with spherical and spiraling motion, Gyrotonic affords the body freedom of movement and creates flexibility and strength in all 3-dimensions. Created by Juliu Horvath, this system has been developed to accommodate all fitness levels, to strengthen the support structure of the body, to increase range of motion, and to create coordination.

Kate Hardy, owner/director of HBK, has over 20 years of teaching experience. Having studied the Pilates method in London and Los Angeles, she continues the perfection of form and movement begun by Joseph Pilates. The HBK staff of experienced and well-trained instructors brings together skills from physical and manual therapy, dance, massage therapy, nutrition, and aromatherapy to provide total fitness for our clientele.
